For much of my life, I’ve been drawn to understanding human behavior, understanding people —their stories, their pain, limitations, and their healing. As a clinical social worker, I’ve had the privilege of sitting alongside others during some of their darkest seasons.
Beyond my professional role, I am also a wife, a mother, daughter, a woman of faith who has experienced grief, uncertainty, contentment, fear and suffering, joy, and change. Life brings seasons that stretch us and some that break our hearts. The gift of suffering- however- is that some invite us to become someone better.
Gracefully Human was born out of understanding that growth doesn’t come from comfort- and for me- it comes from learning to live honestly with myself before God, extending grace to ourselves and others.
You can expect to find insights from 20+ years of being a therapist, functions of behavior, bible verses that can bring comfort, lessons learned, mistakes and honest thoughts about walking with God when your heart hurts I write for:
The person who feels deeply
The person who wants to be more confident with vulnerability
The person navigating change
The parent learning to let go
The person who desires freedom from feeling controlled by the actions of others
The person longing to feel understood, grow emotionally, spiritually (if you choose) while remaining authentically human.
My hope is that these words remind you that you are not alone!
